I live in the Midwest... Illinois.The winter months are really bad for me. It starts in November and finally ends in early April. My brain needs sunlight.
I take a 10 day vacation in the winter in sunny Florida or go on cruises to the Bahama's/Caribbean. This lifts my depression as soon as I land and see the sun. As soon as I get back home it starts up all over again.
My job is working outdoors from early March to middle of November. Rainy days make make really depressed. As soon as the sun comes out I feel much better.
With S.A.D,I gain weight in the winter months, have no desire to exert myself to do anything, go to bed earlier, and live in a fog until April comes around.
There are Light therapy boxes you can use but have never tried one. The only solution is to move to a location that has sunny days and no snow.

In Jehovah's Watchtower Land, Sarah is not carrying her weight. She's trying but seems a little tired out. She's not meeting the high standards that are required for the title of ''Pioneer.'' We can show her scriptures on other men of the Bible couldn't carry their weight any longer. Sarah did pioneer for ''only'' eight years and that isn't breaking any records. She's only spent 6400 hours as a Pioneer in the last 8 years and now that she spends only 600 hours per year, we need to inform her that the title ''Pioneer'' needs to be pulled.My question is: Why does anyone pioneer? How did 80 hours a month in service make you a better Jehovah's Witness than if you did 10 hours a month of field? If you never had to fill out a form with the knowledge of the the Elders and the congregation members that you were a '' Pioneer,'' would you still do it? -

the scripture makes you think, reflect, enters your heart and produces results.. today, you have your modern day governing body ( who supposedly are the mouthpiece for jesus and jehovah and provide spiritual food for the 8 million followers).
if jehovah really sends his holy spirit upon these seven men, is this silly and petty message they can come up with?

Ego. Vanity. Lust for adulation. Take your pick.They all seem scared of the camera and look stiff. They are not great speakers. Samuel Herd looks like he's the bearer of bad news and can't wait to get off the scene.
I think they like all the attention/adulation but it seems they were forced to make these broadcasts from either the Watchtower lawyers or hired a media company to take them into the 21st century. I think they will retreat from these broadcasts and call it a failure.

In the movie The Wizard of Oz, while the whole Yellow Brick Road gang was being addressed by the Great And Powerful Wizard Of Oz, the dog Toto ran off to the side, pulled back on a curtain, and showed that a normal-looking humbug of a person was operating cranks and levers. I AM The Great And Powerful Wiz . . .
Why did the Governing Body come around the curtain and expose themselves? You see them all over JW Broadcasting, signing Bibles, taking pictures with members, and their pictures are plastered all over the place. They have become Bible movie stars.
I feel that none of them are great teachers or speakers. They all sound monotone when speaking. I would fall asleep at one of their talks. I can't believe that these 7 men are the spokesman/mouthpiece for Jesus and Jehovah. The have no sayings of everlasting life. It's like finding out how sausage is made. It may taste good but once you see how sausage is made you will loose your appetite. I liked it better when I was in and never saw behind the curtains.
